About Me

I’ve been a professional hair designer and colorist working full-time for over 21 years. Early in my career it was discovered that I have a unique talent for the challenges of hair-coloring and color correction. I love going to classes and learning the latest trends and products so that I can stay motivated, inspired and challenged.

My insatiable hunger for knowledge and hands-on experience enables me to feel confidant with any hair-color situation. I’ve always loved learning from those more masterful and experienced than I so that my guests can experience all the joy that hair-coloring and styling offers.

 My goal is to better serve you so that I may reach beyond your expectations. When you put your trust in me, we work together as a team so you can achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful hair.

I am a Master Hair-colorist, specializing in all forms of hair-coloring, including  multidimensional techniques for blondes, brunettes and redheads, as well as creative coloring techniques.  I also have 21 years experience doing haircuts and styling, braids, lip & brow waxes and I enjoy doing Special Occasion Updo’s and Formal Wear.

I realize it’s highly unusual to post one’s Resume out in the open like this, but since I’m new to the Cypress area,  I thought this might be a nice way of helping you become familiar enough with me to consider trusting me with your hair care needs. 

Each one of my cherished guests will always receive the best I can offer in skill, knowledge and care. So here it is, my Resume...

My first 10 years as a professional hair stylist was spent working under the guidance of Jean Goldwait, owner and operator of  “J. Goldwait Hair Design”  in The Woodlands, Texas.  Jean was an amazing woman/stylist/colorist/business owner & friend who demonstrated that each guest is simply a potential friend & neighbor we haven’t met yet. She taught me how to deliver good, honest customer care, the value of quality hair services, and good business ethics.

For 9 months, I worked at TGF as Manager/Stylist/Colorist, which I found both challenging and educational. The classes and experiences learned during my time with TGF taught me some of the more unique techniques of permanent waving long hair, as well as some business building skills. “Have a Great Day!”  was said every day :)

After 10+ years of working for someone else, I’d felt the desire for change and independance, so in January of 2000, I opened my own salon, Hair Design by Lynn, which was located within “Salons of The Woodlands”. I was one of the first to design and establish a website for my business, and enjoyed a bit of notoriety as a salon who actually posted my price list for all to see. My belief is that honesty coupled with legitimate expectations is the best policy. I enjoyed the challenges and joys of business ownership for almost 11 years.

Then, I met a wonderful man, fell in love, and we joined our lives as one. I loved my Woodlands clients/guests/friends, and stubbornly made the long drive back and forth to my business in The Woodlands for over three years. Then finally decided it was time to make friends and meet my neighbors in Cypress.

So, this is where I am now. As of September 2010, I joined the very talented and friendly design team at Up In Tangles Salon and am thoroughly enjoying working with talented stylists & colorists, being near my home and meeting my Cypress neighbors!

I am a "Board Certified Haircolorist"... which means I cared enough to prove to myself (and to you)... that I'm well qualified to tackle any hair-color situation... and I always do my best to preserve the integrity of your hair while achieving the results we've agreed on. I have extensive training and experience with many different brands and types of hair-coloring products including those produced by Wella, Matrix, Redken, Joico, Loreal, Farouk, Goldwell, and Framesi.
